Today the cruise came to an end. We docked in Brooklyn at around 6:30am. We did not see us go under the bridge but I did see the Statue of Liberty from my balcony.
Always a welcome site when returning home.
Nice skyline.
Early breakfast and then finished packing our carry ons and headed to the theater where we were suppose to wait for our number and color to be called. There were a lot of people from different counties on this cruise so the line at customs was long and they held up the disembarkation process for a bit. We did not get off the ship until around 10 am. There was no line for the US citizens. But a really long one for the others.
Had to line up for a taxi to take us to the airport where we picked up our car. And we were off. The ride up to Springfield was uneventful. Lots of traffic in NYC and lower Connecticut but not so bad once we cleared the cities.
Arrived at the hotel by 3pm. Need to buy a new piece of luggage as the handle on mine broke in Paris. The pull up one. So we are off to Costco to find a new one.
I thought I would post some of the pictures I took while we were in Southampton.
The view from our balcony. Just need to look between the boats.
While we were in port, they lowered the boats to check the ropes. So now I could see what the others see.
As we were sailing out of England, we spotted this castle on the shore.
I am still not a huge fan of Cunard. They are too class oriented for my taste. But I will say that the food in the dining room was good.
Tomorrow is Elizabeth's high school graduation. We are very proud of her. Will post pictures then.
